Instagram, one of the most used social networking applications with more than 1 billion users around the world, has taken another step to concretize its policy towards likes. Instagram management, which wants to completely eliminate likes, started testing the feature of hiding likes in the USA.
According to the news in Al Jazeera, studies have started in the USA for the unliked Instagram, which has been undergoing testing in Canada, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Brazil, Australia and New Zealand since April.
Speaking on the subject, Adam Mosseri, CEO of Instagram, said that their goal is to make the platform much less competitive. Stating that in the tes version of Instagram, users can see how many people liked the photos they shared, Mosseri explained that he cannot see the number of likes in the photos shared by others.
It is stated that Instagram's launch of this test in the USA shows how serious its intentions are on this issue.
FOLLOWER NUMBERS ARE WHERE THE STATISTICS ARE
On the other hand, in the test version, follower figures will be located in a separate section with statistics, not under the user profile as in the current version.
Instagram without likes was launched on the grounds that the number of likes made people feel bad by comparing themselves with others and that this negatively affected the mental health of users, especially young people.
